Daina Redpath

I love yoga, music, stories and kids! My yoga classes bring all of these elements together into an experience for kids and teens that is not only fun, but is so beneficial for their growing minds and bodies. Using the tools of yoga and mindfulness, students will learn how to recognize and regulate emotions, calm anxiety, build self-esteem, and create community. My classes also incorporate many of life's most important lessons, such as kindness, empathy, mindfulness, loving ourselves and others, and so much more. Through yoga poses, meditation, breathwork and mindfulness, kids and teens will learn to navigate life's challenges and find their inner peace and joy so they can thrive in their world! Each class is tailored to be age-appropriate and fun and to meet young people where they are in their development.
Yoga has been a constant throughout all of my life's journeys. In addition to being a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher, I am also a certified and licensed Children's Yoga Instructor through Kidding Around Yoga. Music has always been a central part of my life as well and I have worked with children of all ages teaching violin and early childhood music classes. I also worked for several years as an occupational therapist in schools and have taught yoga classes to kids and teens in my community and in the school setting.
Mission
Helping children and teens reduce anxiety, have a deeper connection to themselves and build stronger community

Kidding Around Yoga
At Joy Yoga we teach yoga in the Kidding Around Yoga (KAY) style, an evidence-based children's yoga program. Every KAY class offers a complete, age-appropriate yoga practice including breathing instruction, relaxation techniques, stretching and strengthening poses. Differing from traditional yoga classes, Kidding Around Yoga uses music, games and more to keep students motivated and engaged. From pre-school to teens, young people will learn how to recognize and regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, build self-confidence and increase mental and physical strength in a caring and supportive community.
